Audio & Sound Effects

Choose sound that supports the story.

Pixelfo organizes audio by creative purpose so editors can quickly understand where a sound may fit. Only audio with clear publishing and distribution rights should be added to the library.

Audio categories

These categories are available in the Pixelfo search and filter system. Published audio will appear in the main explorer after rights and quality review.

Nature Sounds

Rain, bird calls, forest ambience, ocean waves and environmental recordings that can make a visual scene feel more natural.

Ambient Sounds

Subtle room tone, outdoor texture and atmospheric sound for narration, slow edits and background layers.

Background Music

Music beds for tutorials, presentations, educational videos and social content where the voice or main message should remain clear.

Cinematic Music

More dramatic music categories for intros, trailers, emotional storytelling and scene changes.

Whoosh Effects

Short movement sounds for text animation, reveals, zooms, swipes and motion-graphic transitions.

Transition Sounds

Quick audio cues that help connect cuts, title changes or visual transitions without distracting from the edit.

Notification Sounds

Short pings, alerts and interface-style cues for app demos, tutorials and digital storytelling.

Sound Effects (SFX)

A broad category for impacts, clicks, movement, atmosphere and other short effects used to support visual action.

Relaxing Sounds

Gentle soundscapes and calm ambience suitable for meditation-style visuals, study content and slow background scenes.

Bird, Rain, Forest & Ocean

Dedicated nature subcategories make it easier to search for a specific environmental sound instead of browsing a large mixed library.

How to choose audio for a video

Start with the role the audio needs to play. Background music should support the message without competing with narration. Sound effects should usually be short and timed to a visible action. Ambient audio can make a location feel believable even when it is very quiet.

Keep levels comfortable

If your project includes speech, keep music and ambience lower than the voice. Avoid stacking too many effects at once. A simple mix is often clearer and more professional than a busy one.

Match the mood, not only the subject

A village scene may work with birds, distant footsteps or soft wind, while a technology tutorial may need clean interface cues and light background music. Think about emotion, pace and context before downloading a sound.

Audio licensing matters

Music and sound effects can have different licensing conditions. A file being downloadable does not automatically mean it can be used in advertising, client work, monetized videos or resale products. Review the item-specific license and the Pixelfo Content License before publishing.

Current library note: Pixelfo has activated the Audio & SFX categories, but this build does not include an audio file unless one has been separately uploaded and rights-cleared. This avoids presenting unverified audio as free or licensed.

For contributors

When submitting audio, provide an accurate title, category, source and rights statement. Do not upload music copied from streaming services, social platforms, other stock websites or creators without explicit redistribution rights.
